We humans, a long time ago (before we were humans, actually), learned to categorize things. Some caveman dude scribbled a stick man on a wall skewering a giant buffalo, and from that day forward, the other cavedudes and cavedudettes knew when they saw that symbol, that the grub was gonna be jumpin' off. The event of capturing food had been categorized by this symbol. This drive to associate things has resulted in one of my most frustrating tasks. Telling somebody "what type" of music I play. I've been likened to Jack Johnson and David Gray. I'm rockish acoustic folk with lyrics that I hope make people think, and more importantly feel, something different than they feel when they listen to other music. If you want to call me Acoustic Porn Funk, that's okay with me...just let me know what you think or just say hi! I am a turtle, and sometimes it takes a poke to get me out of my shell.
I do hope to offer samples in this site, but I hate recording and never like the recordings that come about. You can find me on Facebook, MySpace and ReverbNation....there are samples there, they just don't have all the instrumentation that rolls around in my head when I play them. Enjoy them for what they are, and as I get more developed recordings, I will put them in this space. |
